  2. The Hugh Laurie scene is from a spoof on the UK TV series The Professionals they did on their Fry & Laurie show.

  3. What I don't understand is why he is cocking the gun again. The hammer is already back, that means it is ready to go. All he would do by cocking it again is expend the bullet that is already in the chamber.

  4. @goshops Do you really think from that footage that the character has much skill with firearms?

  5. @Anonymous - Obviously not, but I would expect the producers or directors to do some research on firearms.

  8. What does "stop being a douche goshops its a tv show. in the UK." mean? First of all being a shower isn't an insult (douche bag is however), secondly it is a comedy sketch and thirdly the inflection on "in the UK" is there for what reason exactly? I am not from the UK, but still I would like to hear what it means. Does the UK not have guns OR is everyone in the UK ignorant of guns? Considering it was the British Empire (or united kingdom) that brought guns into the western world, one would assume they may know how they work or at-least have a book or two on guns in the local library. Now for the person asking why he cocked the gun a second time, your only asking this so people see how observant you are on the fact that you noticed. I deduced this by virtue of the fact that no one on this blog could ever answer such a heavily rhetorical question as thus (oh look how observant I am now, amazing!). Oh and to respond to your further statement, Hugh Laurie was one if the directors of the sketch! The other director was possibly one of the more intellectual human being of this day and age, that being Steven Fry!

  9. Rough Words James, but I think its worth noting that although you hold yourself in higher regard to anyone you may meet on the internet, (Good for you stereotype)the gun was never cocked a second time. Perhaps your attention span wasn't long enough to comprehend the GIF concept.

  10. I think it is part of the joke, in 80s action films/tv you see people cocking their guns without need all the time...

  11. @James Nicholas:

    Stop being a pretentious dick.

You're pointing fault in the way he wrote what he wrote, and not the actual meaning.

While guns do exist in the UK, strict laws do not permit anyone ownership. It is also not standard library material either.

Side note: Douche is shower, in french. Due to the poster very obviously speaking in english, I can deduce that he actually used a slang term, he called another person a douche! As in Douche bag!

    I can be condescending too!
